Steel Push Piers

Understanding why your home needs foundation repair is the first step in finding the solution to your foundation repair needs. Expansive soils can cause major foundation damage. The soil swells and shrinks depending on the moisture content. When the soil shrinks, it removes support from the building, leading to foundation settlement. Also, when there is a drought, it causes the soil around the home to crack. When it finally rains, water then moves through these cracks, causing it to swell. This shrinking and swelling causes foundation to shift and move, causing foundation damage.

What Are The Different Uses and Applications For Steel Push Piers?

Steel push piers are used to transfer loads from the soil near the surface to deeper, more stable soil that is more suitable for load bearing. They are most used to underpin settling foundations.

Each of our patented foundation pier systems are installed by our team of professional foundation repair experts.

How Are Steel Push Piers Installed?

Steel push piers are driven individually and the entire structure works as the reaction. A friction reduction collar is then attached to the lead section of the galvanized pier pipe. This collar creates an opening in the soil that has a larger diameter than the pier pipe. This dramatically reduces the skin friction on the pier pipe as it is driven into the soil. This allows the installer to load test and verify that the pier has encountered firm bearing rock that is suitable to support the load.

High pressure hydraulic jacks are placed at multiple locations which reduces the load on each push pier. Then these hydraulic jacks are connected to a manifold system to provide a synchronized lift.
